I made my first ever slideshow put to music.  One of our friends dressed up on St Patrick's Day and I took a few pictures of him.  I sat down today, figured out that I had the right programs on my computer to put a video together, and created the following:

I finally got my pictures uploaded so now it's time to get caught up!

A couple weekends ago, I had a small party.  Unfortunately most of the people I invited got sick beforehand and so only two people showed up.

We still managed to make the most of it and more than made up for the missing people with all the bottles of wine we consumed.  We watched movies, painted our nails, and gave ourselves facials.  It was a blast!

Stupid virus!

So I, in all my brilliance, managed to get the Google redirect virus on my laptop.  That was an interesting couple days.  I couldn't log into anything, go anywhere, or pretty much use my computer at all.  Luckily I have an amazing husband who managed to fix it all for me!


I have a lot of catching up to do from when I was gone! There have been parties, work, and leprechauns! As soon as I download my pictures, I will start going post crazy, cross my heart!

Today was....not so much fun

I have a cold! :( It is not how I wanted to spend my day, I was actually looking forward to going into work today too!  Instead, I've spent it curled up on the couch staring at an ever growing pile of tissues. Sigh.

To make this post more fantastic...my dogs:

My Border Collie, Ash.  He is super shy and hates having his picture taken.  He somehow knows when you switch from doing something on the phone to getting ready to take a picture!  This is the best picture I have ever been able to take of him.

Krypto on the other hand doesn't mind having his picture taken, so you get two of him.  That said, he sleeps so much, it's hard to get a picture of him where he is actually awake, in fact, he is currently passed out on top of my feet!  These two pictures were his attempt to help me with laundry...

Since this blog is about both K & my life, I suppose I should post more about him too.  Right now I am as good as being single.  He is playing Mass Effect 3 which gives me plenty of "me time" for the next week! I have also learned this week, that if you are married to someone who is very much into video games, it is not a good idea to call Mass Effect, Modern Warfare.  I don't know that he will ever get over the hurt on that one!

So I have found my favorite blog ever.  She is a new blogger, and her posts always make me laugh.  I love her outlook on life and hope she keeps it up for a long while (well, I hope she finds her perfect job, but then keeps blogging even afterwards).

My weekend project!

I decided that I was tired of how my fireplace looked and wanted to change it.  Before we bought our house, there had been an insert in it that had to be removed before we could buy.  The insert left a huge black soot(?) mark around the entire fireplace.  In addition, the inside of the fireplace was covered in ash that had sat for years.

Yesterday I scrubbed it clean. It took a few hours and many many trips to the bathroom for clear water, when I finally gave up, it looked even worse than when I started.  When I got up this morning, and all the water had dried, I had hope again! a little more cleaning and it was time to paint.  It took two coats and a few more hours, but I am very happy with the finished project!

What a month!

I've neglected my blog already! Darn life getting in the way of fun things! February was a hectic month where nothing went right.  My grandma died, we had our credit card stolen, I worked a crazy amount of overtime, and then we drove to California.  March will hopefully be a much better month. 

My current project is my fireplace.  I have spent all night scrubbing it to prep for painting.  After hours of scrubbing, and multiple bowls of water...I think it looks worse than when I started. Sigh!

We are working on getting our living room completed so that we can have a nicer place for when people come over to entertain them.  Today we bought two new recliners and now neither of us have the motivation to get up and do anything else.  They are so comfortable!

I will try and be better at keeping this updated!

So I am a part of a site called bzzagent.  I love it.  I get to try new products and share reviews about them.  The proudct I'm trying out today is actually a website called Smarterer.  It is full of tests to see how much you know about different topics.

So excited!

I checked my views and it looks like there is already someone else who has checked out my blog! Thank you very much, I hope that that number keeps growing.

Today's post will be about K.

K and I met online and after dating for a couple years, got married in April of 2010.  He is the manager of a video game store and does a pretty good job at it too.  Since becoming manager, the store has doubled in size and their inventory and selection has grown by leaps and bounds.  I am so proud of him.

K likes to play games.  His system of choice is Xbox 360 and he does play daily.  Some people might think it's excessive, but it's his thing so I support it.  He always makes time for me and pretty much keeps the playing to when I'm not home so we can still spend all our time together.

He is the sweetest, most caring man I've ever been with, always putting his friends and family first.  He dotes on me and makes sure that I always have everything I need.  Everyone says that I got super lucky when we found each other and that he is a keeper...I agree!

PCOS

So in my first post I mentioned that I have PCOS and figured I should address it right off the bat so that people understand exactly what it is.

PCOS stands for Polycystic ovary syndrome.  It's pretty much a hormone imbalance that causes me a lot of grief.  There are a lot of good sites with information about it and all that it entails.  One of my favorites is U.S. National Library of Medicine . 

To try and help out with it I started a super low carb diet.  I am only allowed 30 carbs a day.  So far it's been a little rough, but worth it.  I started on January 9th and have lost 5lbs already.

My food consists of meats, eggs, cheeses, and a few different vegetables.  I have also found a couple treats that make it easier.  There is a peppermint cool whip that is delicious, and Applebee's makes amazing BBQ wings that are super low carb too!

I am lucky I have a supportive husband in all this too.  Since he gets home before me, he will cook pork chops, steak, or some other kind of meat so that I can have dinner when I get home.

I'll touch on it more throughout my blogging and how it is affecting my life.

The start...

For my first post I thought I should introduce myself and tell a little about what this blog will be about.  My name is B.  I am married to a wonderful man named K.  We have two dogs, a Border Collie named Ash, and a Maltese named Krypto.

I work in the back office at a bank fixing accounts, making changes when they need to be updated, and getting to play detective when a customer is declined.  K manages a video game store.  He loves to play his 360 which works out perfect for me because I have time to do other things when I get home.

I love to do projects.  Sewing, decorating, baking...it's all so much fun! 

We are trying to have a baby, unfortunately I have PCOS so it's being a long process.  I am now on a SUPER low-carb diet to hopefully make my body start working like it should, and loose a few pounds in the process.

This blog isn't about just one of these topics.  It's about all of them and so much more.  It's about my life and I can't wait to tell more!
